Aroma Soft, sweet attack with notes of caramel, vanilla and cocoa. This is followed by sherry notes of caramelised and roasted Brazil and hazelnuts, rounded off by facets of toffee, banana and dried pineapple.
Taste Complex and full-bodied with dried fruit and apricot mingling with hints of savoury oak, nutmeg, leather and tobacco. Coffee and vanilla with a spicy hint of cinnamon and ginger follow.
Finish Complex with accents of honey butterscotch, spicy oak notes and dried fruits.

Product description
The Zacapa 23 Solera Rum is a combination of sugar cane rums that matured between 6 and 23 years according to the solera principle. The blended rum is matured in selected barrels at 2,300 metres above sea level, in which American whiskey, sherry and Pedro Ximénez wine were previously stored. This creates a particularly soft and balanced rum. The principle of solera maturation is known from sherry, brandy and wine production. For this, several rows of oak barrels of different ages are stacked on top of each other and only from the oldest row (which is at the bottom), the respective liquid is drawn off.
