Tormore Blueprint Cask Programme - Toasted Barrels 10 Years

Perhaps the most innovative of the three "Blueprint" bottlings is the Tormore Toasted Barrels, which has been matured in specially toasted oak casks. The barrels were subjected to intensive heat treatment to release the flavours of the inner layers of wood. The 10-year-old whisky combines traditional maturation methods with a modern understanding of cask management. Nutty facets meet toffee and subtle smoky notes surrounded by caramelised fruit. The special toasting of the casks ensures a balanced depth and warmth that is reflected in the structure of the whisky. As part of the "Blueprint" series designed by Elixir Distillers, this bottling is also limited. The series offers three different cask profiles and thus illustrates the stylistic range that the Tormore Distillery will adopt under the direction of the independent bottler. The series is not only an invitation to discover the flavours, but also an ambitious commitment to the future of one of Speyside's most exciting distilleries.
