Redemption Rye is a whiskey as it was enjoyed in the USA before Prohibition. The rye is made from 95% rye and 5% barley malt and matured for over two and a half years in freshly burnt oak barrels.

The Distillery: Ross & Squibb

The Ross & Squibb distillery looks back on a long history. It was originally founded in Lawrenceburg, Indiana in 1847 by George Ross as the Rossville Distillery. It was acquired by food manufacturer MGP in 2011 and produces George Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Rossville Union Straight Rye, among others. read more

    Aroma: das karamell springt einen hier regelrecht an, gefolgt von zitrusnoten und dem obligatorischen nagellackentferner, vermischt mit getreidenoten. sehr angenehm zu riechen und der alkohol bleibt zum glück im hintergrund.Caramel Caramel Lemon Rye

    Geschmack: milder, aber säuerlicher antritt mit jeder menge roggen und auch karamell. die acetonnote ist logischerweise auch mit dabei. der alkohol ist jetzt ebenfalls voll mit dabei.Herb Rye Rye Caramel Alcohol

    Abgang: mittellanger abgang mit getreidenoten und ein paar taninen.Rye Herb

    Kommentar: sehr angenehmer rye, von einer brennerei die mir bisher unbekannt war. zukünftig werde ich diese aber im focus behalten, da der einsteiger eigentlich ganz nett ist. der rye ist in sich stimmig und kann gerne pur genossen werden. dafür ad hoc 3 sternchen. gut.
