Paul John Nirvana is a non-smoky bottling from the Indian distillery and was bottled at 40% vol. to make it accessible to beginners. The small Paul John distillery has been based in the Indian holiday region of Goa since 1992. The hot Indian climate allows whisky to mature more quickly and intensively.

    Aroma: schöne samtig- weiche und auch süße nase mit noten von früchten wie äpfeln und beeren und auch malz und vanille.Sweet Berries Apple Malt Vanilla

    Geschmack: im gegensatz zur nase bleibt der geschmack aber leider um längen zurück. er kommt sehr bitter und würzig rüber, ohne komplexität und dabei bleibt er insgesamt eindimensional und dünn. außer ein paar faßnoten ist da nicht viel, eventuell noch ein paar weintrauben.Herb Herb Spices Oak Grape

    Abgang: insgesamt kurz und würzig, mit einigen tanninen und dann doch noch überraschend süß. hier ist auch wieder eine leicht ölige samtigkeit feststellbar.Herb Sweet Oil

    Kommentar: dieser whiskey schießt einen zwar nicht ins nirvana, aber schlecht ist er nun wirklich nicht. die nase und der abgang sind gar nicht übel, auch wenn der geschmack ein wenig dünn ist. so reicht es gerade noch für 3 sternchen, besonders auch wegen der schönen verpackung.

    Komischer Geruch.
    Leicht würzig, viel Getreide, Stroh.

    Geschmacklich ganz ok, wenngleich er auch irgendwie nichtssagend ist.
    Etwas Eiche, Gewürze, Schlehen.
    Trocken und bitter.

    Den muss man nicht haben...

    Aroma: Getreidig, malzig, orangenfruchtig ...
    Geschmack: Mild und süßlich, dann leicht würzig werdend, und etwas trocken-bitter.
    Abgang: Kurz bis mittellang; leicht Zartbitterschokolade, feine Fruchtigkeit und ganz fein "staubige" Eiche
    Kommentar:
    Ein angenehmer und gut geeigneter Einsteiger; mehr aber auch nicht.
    Die gewisse Komplexität ist zwar schon vorhanden, es fehlt aber überall etwas an Intensität.
    Angesicht des Preises aber noch durchaus akzeptabel.

    Geschmack: Mundfüllend. Süß mit Honig sowie leicht salzigen Gerstennoten.

    Abgang: Mittellang und honigsüß mit Vanille.
