Old Overholt is a very popular rye whiskey in the USA. Abraham Overholt founded his farm distillery in 1810, back then still in Pennsylvania. The Old Overholt brand is now produced in Kentucky and marketed together with the Old Grand Dad brand as "The Olds" by Beam Suntory. The rye whiskey is matured for around 4 years in new, burnt-out American oak barrels. The brand was created by German immigrants who spelt their name Overholt, Oberholtzer and Oberhold and split into family branches.
