Product description

Product description
Produced by the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky, Old Grand-Dad is one of the most traditional Bourbon brands in the USA. The Beam family of master distillers can look back on over 200 years of history, and with Old Grand-Dad they honour Basil Hayden Senior, the early distiller who established a high rye content in the Bourbon mash. Remarkably, the brand even survived the Prohibition era. Old Grand-Dad was then produced under licence by a pharmaceutical company as a "medicinal whiskey" and could be prescribed by doctors - a rare privilege that ensured its survival. Today, this heritage lives on in Old Grand-Dad 114, the strongest bottling in the range, which is bottled at cask strength at 114 proof (57% vol.). In deep amber, it develops notes of rye spice, vanilla, caramel and toasted oak, followed by a long, warming finish - a Bourbon for connoisseurs who appreciate strength and tradition in equal measure.

Aroma:

Kommentar: Bang! Kräftig, voll, ordentlicher Geschmack, viel Eiche, viel Süße, verträgt gut Wasser - mit 35€ gut bepreist.
