The name Omar actually comes from Gaelic and means something like amber. However, the Omar Single Malt comes from Taiwan. Single Malt has been produced at the Nantou distillery since 2008.

    Aroma: Dunkel fruchtig (Pflaume), pfeffrig / blumig ...
    Geschmack: Vollmundig-ölig, Kakao, dunkle Schokolade, etwas pfeffrig-würzig und leicht zitrusfruchtig.
    Abgang: Anhaltend; würzig, leicht trocken-bitter
    Kommentar:
    Schon recht komplex und kraftvoll, aber noch nicht "rund" und geschmeidig. - Dafür recht teuer ...

    Aroma: ziemlich würzig-scharf, Piment, Nelken, Pfeffer... trockenes Holz, Sägespäne, etwas Kakao und gebrannter Zucker

    Geschmack: kräftig und ölig, Kakao, Schokolade, etwas scharf und bitter, Zimt, Muskat, Pfeffer, etwas Limettenschale und Blumenschnitt

    Abgang: lang, Pfeffer, ein wenig Kakao und deutliche pflanzliche Bitternoten

    Kommentar: Nicht schlecht, aber ganz schön "eckig" (scharf/bitter) und mit ca. 80€ preislich ziemlich heftig, dafür müßte er geschmacklich deutlich beeindruckender/interessanter werden.

    Aroma: Recht schwache Sherryfassnote. Man merkt, dass der Whisky nicht allzu alt ist und dass refill-Fässer verwendet wurden..

    Geschmack: Leichte Sherryeinflüsse, aber (leider) nicht zu dominant. Bleibt recht spritzig und frisch.

    Abgang: Nicht allzu lang.

    Kommentar: Ich würde ihn mir nicht kaufen, aber wirklich schlecht war er nicht.

    Geschmack: Voll, weich und etwas rauchig mit Karamell.

    Abgang: Lang mit Trockenfrüchten und Orangenkuchen.
