For the Milam & Greene Single Barrel, each cask is individually rated, bottled and handpicked from Milam & Greene's growing collection. The team only bottles whiskeys that meet the distillery's criteria. The Straight Bourbon is then bottled from a single cask that holds 53 gallons (about 200 litres). Each cask yields about 280 bottles and the cask number, alcohol content in volume percent and alcohol content in American proof are handwritten on each label.

The Milam & Greene distillery team around Master Distiller Marlene Holmes is based in Blanco, Texas. In contrast to Kentucky, where Whiskey has been produced since 1700, Texas has only been active in the Whiskey business for a short time. But precisely because there is no long history and therefore no rigid rules, there is greater scope for innovation.

Geschmack: Würzig, rund und weich: Vanille/Karamell mit Honig, frischen Aprikosen, Zuckerstangen, Fruchtgummi und Bonbons.
Abgang: Maximal mittel. Fruchtige, cremige Wellen aus Karamell/Sahne/Vanille-Pudding mit weichen Früchten garniert, Zuckerkonfekt und Traubenzucker.
Kommentar: Wow! Ich bin begeistert! Ein Single Barrel Bourbon wie man ihn selten zum verkosten bekommt. Würzig, komplex, nicht eintönig und erfrischend anders: Meine erste Abfüllung von Milam & Greene macht schon verdammt viel Spaß! Wenn die anderen Abfüllungen auch in die Richtung gehen, freu ich mich jetzt schon darauf. -

Kommentar: Ordentlicher Bourbon-Whiskey (Single Barrel) einer aufstrebenden Brennerei, geführt von Frauenhand (Heather Greene). Nachdem die Hälfte der Flasche nun aufgebraucht ist, wird er durch Interaktion mit der Luft zunehmend weicher und cremiger. Auch die Kirschwasser-Note kommt gelegentlich zum Vorschein. Im Shop ist derzeit auch noch eine Version mit 52,5% erhältlich. -

Süß und ganz hinten raus etwas herb. Ich mag dieses Whisky-Haus, auch wenn ich die Rye Whiskeys mehr genießen kann. Dies ist eher eine leichte Version und etwas schwach. Süß, mild und hinten raus etwas holzig, würzig. Ich denke, für den Preis hat man bessere Optionen. Der Rye topt alles.
