The 12-year-old Knob Creek is particularly smooth and flavourful due to its long maturation. The Kentucky Straight Bourbon with a higher alcohol content is produced in the same style as before the American Prohibition in the 1920s.

    Kommentar: Ein sehr solider Bourbon, der durch die Zugabe von Wasser einen richtig angenehmen Trinkfluss erhält. Enttäuschend ist der Preis von € 150,00. In den USA bekommt man ihn für rund $ 60,00. Werde ich daher kein weiteres Mal kaufen - obwohl er mir schmeckt - und deshalb nur 4 Sterne vergeben. Wert ist er mMn - im ehrlichen Vergleich mit anderen Mitbewerbern aus Schottland, den USA usw. - etwa € 60,00 bis € 80,00 aber sicher keine € 150,00. In den USA wird er nicht umsonst für ca. $ 60,00 an den Endkunden verkauft.

    Kommentar: Ein mächtiger, intensiver Bourbon. Starker Antritt mit dunklem, beinahe verbranntem Karamell, geht über in ein enormes Wechselspiel zwischen Süße und Würze, wandelt sich nach und nach in einen langen, würzigen Abgang der noch lange die Backen belegt und Tannine bereithält, die neben Kaffee/Espressoaromen und dunkler Schokolade doch immer mal wieder Süße durchblitzen lassen. Ist er den enormen Aufpreis zum 9er wert? Da bin ich mir nicht sicher, aber er ist auf jeden Fall eine ganze Kante besser und außergewöhnlicher.
