Product description
This Indri Single Malt, from the town of the same name in the Yamuna River basin, is made from the classic 6-row Indian barley that has been cultivated for hundreds of years. The Sanskrit that adorns the bottle refers to Indriya's five senses: smell, taste, sight, touch and hearing. First fill Bourbon, ex-PX sherry and French wine casks were used for maturation.

The Indian Piccadily distillery has been producing Indri Single Malt Whisky since 2021. It also manufactures Camikara Rum, which, unlike many other Rums, is made from pure sugar cane juice and not molasses. read more

    Aroma: rote Früchte Berries , Zitrus Citrus , Gewürze Spices , Vanille Vanilla , Trauben Grape , Rosinen Raisin , Sherry Sherry

    Geschmack: Man hat sofort eine wunderbar fruchtige süße durch die verschiedenen Fasstypen, mit Trauben, roten Früchten, Orangenschalen und Zitrus. Danach kommt eine schöne kräftige Würze und es geht in Richtung weihnachtliches Gebäck mit Zimt, Zitronat und Rumrosinen. Zum Abschluss wird er leicht herb und trocken, etwas Eiche kommt durch und eine schöne Note aus Wein und Sherry bleibt im Hintergrund. Ein Whisky mit toller Komplexität der sich qualitativ vor seiner schottischen oder irischen Verwandtschaft nicht verstecken muss. Wer gerne mal über den Tellerrand schauen will kommt hier voll auf seine Kosten.

    Kommentar: Von Batch zu Batch leider etwas variabel. Das erste, das ich hatte, erinnerte stark an einen guten, selbstgemachten Pfirsicheistee mit ordentlich schwarzem Tee. Das neuere ist etwas holzbetonter und würziger, aber keineswegs schlechter.
