This Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a tribute to the beginnings of Heaven Hill's distilling history, when they released the first bottled-in-bond in 1939. The Bourbon quickly became a bestseller in Kentucky. Even today, it fulfils the professional and high-quality bottled-in-bond standard of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. The term "bottled in bond" goes back to a US law from 1897, which ensures that the whisky comes from a single distillation season of a distillery, is matured for at least four years and is bottled at exactly 100 proof. 7 years in charred oak barrels made the American flavour experience mild, with accents of sweet and spicy facets of caramel and vanilla.

The Distillery: Heaven Hill

The Heaven Hill distillery is relativity young for a big Whiskey distillery. It was founded two years after the prohibition ended. In 1935 the Old Heavenhill Springs was founded by a group of investors and the Shapira brothers. It was a great risk to invest in such a business and hard times lay ahead for the Heaven Hill distillery. read more
