The Heaven Hill distillery is relativity young for a big Whiskey distillery. It was founded two years after the prohibition ended. In 1935 the Old Heavenhill Springs was founded by a group of investors and the Shapira brothers.     Aroma: Fruit Sweet Vanilla Fruchtige, eher trockene Puderzuckersüße. Der Alkohol sticht ein wenig in der Nase, trotz der "nur" 43,3%. Nach dem ersten Schluck finde ich auch Vanille.

    Geschmack: Caramel Spices Malt Sweet Fruit Oak Zunächst sehr leicht, aber nach einem kurzen Moment wird Fahrt aufgenommen. Karamell und Gewürze. Sehr süß. Eiche.

    Abgang: Sweet Herb Spices Oak Deutliche herbe Eichenbitterkeit. Dann aber auch wieder süß und würzig. Der Abgang ist offen gestanden nicht so ganz meins.

    Kommentar: erfindet das Rad zwar nicht neu, aber ist ingesamt sehr angenehm zu trinken. Wer diese Virgin Oak Aromatik von den Fässern nicht so gerne mag (besonders im Abgang), sollte das aber wohl eher meiden. Aber gut geeignet um mal den Horizont zu erweitern (falls man wie ich meist beim Scotch zu Hause ist).
