The 16-year-old Aberlour Double Cask was created from a combination of Bourbon and sherry casks, which were married together after full maturation. Almost all Aberlour whiskies are at least partially matured or matured in sherry casks.

15.10.-9.2.24 - Entkorkung mit Freunden am Kamin, großartiger Genuss, Lüning-Glas schlägt Glencairn. Süffig, viel Frucht mit reifem Obst und Trauben, daneben auch viel milde Nuss, etwas Feige und Dattel sowie Pflaume mit Zartbitter-Schoko und Muskat/Ingwer. Im langen Abgang auch leichte aromatische Pfeffrigkeit, gut ausbalanciert zwischen Ex-Bourbon- und Ex-Sherry-Fässern 27.10. nahezu gleich gut. 25.1.24 wunderbar. dito-23-23,5-22,5-23

Geschmack: Ordentlicher Sherryeinfluss, etwas Eiche, lecker, aber recht unspektakülär auf der Zunge. Etwas dünn mit seinen 40%.

Abgang: Recht kurz. Der Sherry verweilt noch ein wenig, verfliegt aber schon bald.

Kommentar: Netter Dram, aber kommt nicht im Entferntesten an den 12 Jahre unchillfiltered ran.
