To mark its 20th anniversary, this special bottling looks back to the beginnings of Stauning. The first whiskies were produced in an old abattoir with home-made equipment, locally grown barley and peat from the historic Bølling Sø bog. The Single Malt combines 50% peated and 50% unpeated malt and is matured for at least ten years in a selected combination of Bourbon, new oak, port and sherry casks. This edition reflects Stauning's journey from the very first bottlings in 2005 to becoming a recognised Danish distillery, combining tradition with innovative craftsmanship. Only 2005 bottles were produced, each paying homage to the year the distillery was founded.

De Distilleerderij: Stauning
The Stauning Whisky Distillery was founded in 2005 by nine friends in a former butcher's shop on the windswept west coast of Jutland. What began as a shared hobby has developed into one of Scandinavia's best-known Whisky distilleries. Surrounded by fields, moors and heathland, Stauning uses only Danish grain and consistently adheres to the principle of ‘from grain to glass’. Traditional malting floors, 24 direct-fired copper stills and peat and heather smoke give this Danish Whisky its distinctive character.
