Cardhu is derived from the Gaelic 'Carn Dubh' and means 'the black rock'. The distillery's bottlings are produced using a relatively long distillation process.
The theme for this year's special releases from Diageo is 'Elusive Expressions'. Legend has it that one day the ancient black rock beneath Cardhu gave a bloodcurdling crack and released a torrent of tropical heat, creating an exotic paradise around the distillery. At midnight, the abyss closed again, but the vibrant whisky distilled that day remained.

Cardhu was the first distillery that John Walker & Sons bought and Cardhu Single Malt Whisky was one of the six brands that started the Classic Malts Selection, representing the Speyside.

Kommentar: Von meiner Freundin bekommen, daher nicht hier über den Shop. Sehr interessanter Whisky. Sehr tropisch fruchtig in der Nase. Im Geschmack ebenfalls sehr fruchtig und süß, sowie kandierte Ananas oder kandierte Bannen. Der Abgang ist eher lang mit Würze.

Kommentar: Mir ist der zu würzelastig, zu wenig süßfruchtig, wie ichs von Cardhu kenne.
Preislich außerirdisch! Ich habe den über Bonuspunkte erworben – Schade für die Punkte.
Noch kein Cardhu hat mir so wenig gefallen!
